Supporting Indigenous sovereignty, self-reliance, and community wellbeing.
Mishkiki brings traditional knowledge and modern tools together to support community development. Our initiative priorities include clean water, housing, renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and the revitalization of art, culture, and language.
Our approach connects economic opportunity with the wellbeing of people and the land. Explore the two development areas and project priorities below.

Social & Community Development
Strengthening the foundations of healthy communities.
Our social and community development priorities include access to clean drinking water, food, housing, cultural and language revitalization, and greater community self-reliance.
These priorities connect everyday wellbeing with the infrastructure, relationships, and cultural knowledge that help communities thrive. Economic development is intended to help sustain this work over time.
Culture, Language & Community Connection
Cultural education, intergenerational learning, and relationships with the land support identity, belonging, and continuity. Our workshops contribute to this wider vision of community wellbeing.
Initiatives & Project Priorities

Mishkiki Modular Housing
Reclaiming housing sovereignty, one home at a time.
Our housing initiative focuses on energy-efficient modular homes suited to community needs and remote living. The approach connects housing with local assembly, skills development, employment, and community self-determination.
Planning priorities include efficient insulation, off-grid energy options, adaptable layouts, and spaces for family and community life.

Public Community Wireless Internet
Connecting communities and strengthening digital sovereignty.
This initiative combines satellite internet with a community mesh network to extend connectivity to homes, schools, health centres, and gathering spaces. Local training and community ownership are central to the approach.
Reliable connectivity can support education, telehealth, communication, remote work, and the sharing of language and cultural knowledge. Renewable energy options form part of the planning.

Solar Atmospheric Water Generation via Renewable Energy
Clean water and community control.
This initiative explores atmospheric water generation powered by renewable energy to support drinking-water access in remote Indigenous communities. The approach combines water collection, treatment, energy storage, and locally guided planning.
The vision includes community-owned systems and training for local Water Guardians, connecting water infrastructure with employment, skills, and long-term self-reliance.

Environmental Trauma Land Stewardship
Healing the land through Indigenous knowledge and environmental science.
This initiative brings Traditional Ecological Knowledge together with environmental science to address lands affected by extraction, pollution, and ecological disruption.
Priorities include soil and habitat restoration, water protection and monitoring, cultural reconnection, and community participation. Elders, youth, and local knowledge are central to restoring relationships between people and the land.

Economic Development
Creating opportunity while caring for future generations.
Mishkiki provides consultation and project management for economic development in Indigenous communities. Our focus is on environmentally responsible initiatives that connect renewable energy, local employment, and community self-reliance.
We work toward projects that strengthen local economies while respecting the land. Community priorities, Indigenous leadership, and long-term sustainability guide this work.
Natural Resource Management & Ethical Extraction
Our approach brings Indigenous knowledge and environmental responsibility into resource planning. We support community-led decision-making, responsible harvesting, and development that keeps local benefit and stewardship at its centre.
Partnerships with Purpose
We seek collaboration between First Nations and industry partners grounded in respect, transparency, and shared planning. The goal is responsible development that reflects Indigenous values and strengthens community control over economic opportunities.

Land, Life & Legacy
Our responsibility to the land guides how we plan for the future. Respectful harvesting, sustainable management, and giving back support the continuity of life and the wellbeing of future generations.
