Mishkiki Global Trade

Indigenous Excellence. Global Reach. Community Empowerment.

Mishkiki Global Trade — website coming soon. Bringing Indigenous products, knowledge and innovation to local and international markets.

Connecting First Nation businesses, Indigenous artisans, and Canadian producers with international opportunities through ethical trade, meaningful partnerships, and Indigenous-led economic development.

FROM THE LAND — WITH RESPECT

Local Strength. International Opportunity.

Across First Nation communities and throughout Canada, entrepreneurs, artists, harvesters, and producers create exceptional goods rooted in knowledge, craftsmanship, innovation, and a deep connection to the land.

Yet the distance between a promising product and an international buyer can be considerable. Export regulations, distribution networks, logistics, financing, and market access can create barriers that smaller businesses cannot easily overcome alone.

Mishkiki Global Trade is an Indigenous-led economic development initiative being developed to explore practical pathways between Indigenous and Canadian producers and international markets.

Our vision is to build trade relationships grounded in respect, transparency, fair commercial opportunities, and the long-term economic interests of the people and communities behind the products.

OUR APPROACH

Building Practical Pathways to Global Markets

International trade requires more than an introduction. We are developing an approach that considers the needs of producers, buyers, communities, and the markets they hope to reach.

01. Producer Engagement

Identify interested Indigenous businesses, artisans, harvesters, and Canadian producers, and learn about their products, goals, and capacity.

02. Export Readiness

Examine pricing, packaging, documentation, product standards, supply consistency, logistics, and relevant regulatory requirements.

03. Market Research

Evaluate demand, potential buyers, distribution channels, import requirements, and the commercial feasibility of entering specific markets.

04. Partnership Development

Pursue responsible commercial relationships with transparent expectations, appropriate agreements, and mutual long-term value.

INTERNATIONAL OUTLOOK

Connecting Indigenous Products With the World

Global markets present opportunities for producers with distinctive products, strong quality standards, and the ability to meet international commercial requirements.

Mishkiki Global Trade is exploring potential opportunities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, China, India, and Australia.

Each market presents different considerations involving consumer preferences, import rules, tariffs, shipping, labeling, product certification, and distribution. Our approach is to evaluate these factors carefully rather than assume every product is suited to every destination.

These countries are prospective markets under consideration. Their inclusion does not indicate established trading agreements or distribution operations.

THE MISHKIKI DIFFERENCE

Indigenous-Led. Relationship-Driven. Community-Focused.

Mishkiki was founded with a commitment to Indigenous cultural education, community development, and creating opportunities that respond to the needs and priorities of First Nation communities.

Our experience working with communities and organizations has reinforced a simple principle: meaningful partnerships are built on trust, respect, accountability, and an understanding of the people involved.

Global Trade extends that philosophy into economic development. We envision an initiative where Indigenous producers are not merely suppliers of culturally distinctive goods, but active participants in shaping commercial relationships and benefiting from the value they create.

We believe that successful trade should recognize the people behind the product, respect cultural knowledge, and support a stronger economic future.

A Stronger Economic Future, Built Together.

The value of Indigenous products extends beyond what they can command in a marketplace. Behind every business, every harvest, and every handcrafted creation are people, knowledge, relationships, and aspirations for future generations.

Mishkiki Global Trade seeks to help create opportunities where those values are recognized and where economic growth can contribute to lasting community prosperity.

Mishkiki Global Trade is an initiative in development. Market participation, product acceptance, commercial arrangements, and international distribution are subject to further assessment and mutual agreement.
